Her association with classical dance started at the tender age of four and till date she has dedicated her life to this great art form as a performer, choreographer and an outstanding guru to her students. Her interest in minute details has been her core strength and her pursuit for innovation and expressions has been widely appreciated.

She is a proud student of Guru Kshemavathy Thrissur, with her blessings she underwent classical training in both the art forms. She through her performance won many a district and state level awards in Kerala.

After shifting base to Chennai, her talent, dedication & passion for this great art form was identified by none other than the Great Dancer and Guru Dr Padma Subrahmanyam. Under her able guidance and blessings she continued to learn Bharathnatyam. Apart from this, Smt Bhagyashree has been fortunate to have had the opportunity to learn all the nuances of this dance by improvising her abhinaya and natya skills under the able guidance of Smt Krishnakumari Narendran. She also learnt Nattuvangam from Guru Shri Seetarama Sharma.

She has performed all over India and also in Sweden, Germany, London, Canada & USA and holds the title Natya Mayuri conferred to her by none other than Smt Vyjayathimala Bali. She was the leading artiste in all the dance dramas Scripted by Dr Nagaswamy. She was awarded Bharatha Muni by Dr Dhananjayans and Bala Rathna by the renowned Bala Peetam.

Her School Om Nrithyakshethra formed by her in 1998, has been teaching students Bhartanatyam, Classical Folk Dance, Meditation and yoga. Her students both young and old share a special bonding with their Guru. She runs a special dance program namely Suhasini Nrithyakala which is tailor made for working ladies and housewife. Her students range from age 5 to age 76. Her Choreography and teaching style caters and considers individual strengths of her students which brings the best out of each one of them.

A distinctive feature of her teaching method is the creation of intensive learning environment where the students closely interact, meditate, encourage and discipline each other, discovering their own individual interpretations and performing styles rather than just replicating what they have been taught. To impart all around effective learning of this art form, the students are taught theory, Nattuvangam and thalam classes along with Yoga and meditation.

The Students of OM Nrithyakshethra have performed in all leading sabhas and temples and the recent performance being in Guruvayur, Tirupathi, Trivandrum Ananthapadmanabha Swamy Temple, Kabaleeswar Temple and Ratnagirishwarar Temple.
